Mobile Video on Smartphones

Posted on August 24, 2011 by Tim Saxe

A quick link today here at QuickLogic Hotspots: http://www.comscoredatamine.com/2011/08/whos-watching-video-on-their-mobile/

One thing about the study I find very interesting the demographics.   Mobile video is something that is relatively new to most people in the US (where the study is focused).   Normally, for a new, tech-based application, most would assume that the younger generation become the early adopters and prime users.  The data presented by this study would actually indicate the opposite, as more than 2/3 of the people identified as watching mobile video are over the age of 25.  This certainly indicates that mobile video isn’t simply a young person fad, and certainly speaks well for the need for display viewability and power savings solutions.

Do any of our readers not use their smartphone for video?  If so, why not?
